The republic of Gambia is small country on the West Coast of Africa. Known as the smiling coast of Africa off the shores of the Atlantic Ocean. Cutting through the heart of the huge country of Senegal Gambia’s location is perfect, surrounded by lush green mountains and charming riverside villages that are dotted along the Gambian River which flows to stunning, soft, sandy beaches. Gambia has tropical climate and is rich in African culture, history, nature is in abundance. There is so much to experience and explore from its historical buildings, local delicacies and incredible rain forests and wildlife reserves. There are plenty of excursions with something to suit everyone. For a small country Gambia really does have it all. The capital city is Banjul and the language spoken is English. You can expect a huge welcome, the people of Gambia are the warmest, friendliest big-hearted people and you will always be greeted with a smile.

Our Resort - KOTU

Kotu resort and village is a bustling, lively area in the west coast region of the Gambia and takes up half of the tourist district.  The resort is not too from the capital Banjul and the airport. The heart of the resort is focused around the craft market which is set in an oval shape which is partially enclosed and is surrounded buy may souvenir shops and restaurants, bearing all manner of wooden crafts, paintings and African jewellery. The Kotu stream runs through an area of the resort, rice fields can be seen and are a real spectacle during the months the rice is grown. The area is surrounded by wildlife with many species of birds, and you may even see monkeys and lizards in this lush green area. If you are feeling more active, you can always play a round of golf at the close by Fajara Golf Course.  Evenings can be spent in the many restaurants and bars enjoying lively entertainment. As you sunbathe on the beach enjoy freshly squeezed exotic fruit from one of the many stalls on the fringe of the golden sands. Palm trees and waves washing along the shore offer paradise. Tip toe in the shallow waters and take a dip deeper in the rolling waves.

    Visa Information

    For visits of less than a month, you don’t need to get a visa before you travel. British nationals are given a 28-day stamp in their passports on arrival.

    There is an immigration security tax of $20, which is payable on arrival and departure. It's advised that this is paid in cash with either US Dollars, Pound Sterling, Euros or Dalasis at a fixed rate.
