SAL ISLAND
The charming island of Sal is an amazing destination with miles of golden sands and warm turquoise waters it is the perfect place to relax and unwind. Sal is Portuguese for salt; the island has a long history with salt mining although not as big as it was, and these days is main tourist attractions. The island feels unspoilt by tourism making it a desirable destination. The islanders work together with the environment and safeguard the loggerhead turtles famous on the island.
Santa Maria sandy beach stretches as far as the eye can see, a spot of sunbathing and enjoy watching the surfers ride the waves as they crash on the shore.
